Whitney 589 Shaper
This is one of the last shapers made by Newman-Whitney
It was never sold from the factory in Greensboro, NC,
but run only a bit in their factory shop.
The 589 has a heavy fabricated steel base.
The cast top carries the motor and heavy spindle assembly.
Top is 40″ x 56″
This is a very high quality shaper in almost new condition.
Has interchangable spindles, with 5″ under the nut.
Have several spindles for it – 3/4″ – 1 1/4″
5 HP, 220/440 Volt motor, wired for 220 volts.
Has spindle lock for setting up the head
Has Foot brake
